Terms of Service

Effective 2026-10-19. The terms that govern your use of Amharic Class.

Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using Amharic Class (the "app"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Accounts

You sign in with your Google or Apple account — there is no separate Amharic Class password. You are responsible for keeping your Google/Apple account secure, since access to it grants access to your Amharic Class account. You must provide accurate information and may not impersonate another person or share your account with others.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the app only for its intended purpose — learning Amharic. You may not: attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the app or its backend; use automated tools to scrape content or abuse the service; post abusive, harassing, or unlawful content through feedback or social features; generate artificial ad views or clicks, or interfere with, hide or circumvent the advertising we display; or use the app in any way that violates applicable law.

User Content

If you submit feedback, a display name, or other content through the app, you grant us the right to store and use that content to operate and improve the app (for example, showing your display name to users who follow you, or reviewing feedback to fix bugs). You are responsible for the content you submit and must not submit anything unlawful, infringing, or abusive.

Learning Content & Intellectual Property

Lessons, vocabulary, audio, illustrations, and other learning content in the app are owned by Amharic Class or licensed to us, and are provided for your personal, non-commercial learning use only. You may not copy, redistribute, or republish app content outside the app without permission.

Premium Features

Some features may be offered as part of a premium tier. If you purchase premium access, it is billed and managed through the app store (Apple App Store or Google Play) you purchased it from, and is subject to that store's own refund and subscription policies in addition to these Terms. Premium may include an ad-free experience, as described in the app when you subscribe.

Advertising

The free version of the Amharic Class website may display advertisements from third parties, including Google. Showing ads is one way we keep the free version available. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content of ads, the products they promote, or any site you reach by clicking one; any dealings you have with an advertiser are solely between you and them.

How ads use your information is described in our Privacy Policy under “Advertising on Our Website”. Do not click ads for any reason other than genuine interest, and do not use automated means to view or click ads. We may change where, how and whether ads appear at any time.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account; this immediately and permanently removes your account and data (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including abusive conduct toward other users or attempts to compromise the app or its backend.

"As Is" Service

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We work to keep the app reliable and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or uninterrupted, and we are not responsible for translation or content inaccuracies beyond correcting them when found.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Amharic Class is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time as the app changes. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the last update. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
